Miami University placed in top school rankings for value, entrepreneurship

The Princeton Review has named Ohio’s Miami University number 38 in its Top 50 Best Value Colleges (Public Schools) for 2022. The school also placed in three categories, gaining kudos in Top 20 Best Schools for Internships (#9), Top 50 Game Design, Undergrad (#24), and Top 50 Entrepreneurship, Undergrad (#13).

LISNR expands smart ticketing strategy to Africa with partnership

LISNR has identified Africa as a key component in the growth of the smart ticketing market, projected to reach $21.33 billion by 2028.

UC garners award for innovation and economic development

The University of Cincinnati has won the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities’ Innovation and Economic Prosperity (IEP) Award. To be eligible for an IEP award, an institution must first earn the Innovation and Economic Prosperity University (IEP) designation from APLU, which recognizes institutional commitment to regional economic development.

KY Pitch event rewards new businesses with funding for development

The recent KY Pitch event competition in Lexington, KY saw North Kentucky University (NKU) dominating, with three of seven winning teams hailing from the school. Three early-stage businesses pitched by NKU students earned monetary prizes: On Dogs, which specializes in waterproof collars and leashes; Peachy and Vintage, a multiplatform thrift and vintage clothing store; and Style House by Brittany, an event design service.

Cincy startup secures $4 million to tackle enterprise data woes

Data management startup Pantomath has secured $4 million in seed funding, led by Bowery Capital and Epic Ventures, two big-name firms based in New York and Salt Lake City, respectively. Other angel investors also participated. Founder Somesh Saxena, a University of Cincinnati graduate, recently left his position as the head of GE Aviation’s enterprise data program to tackle the data problems enterprises face.

Newly formed digital holding company to streamline services

Cincinnati’s Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) has announced the launch of Accrete Health Partners, a digital holding company that will expand, align and synergize the organization’s digital health services, investments and partnerships. Jason Szczuka, BSMH chief digital officer, says Accrete will form a provider coalition to bring best-in-class digital solutions to market.
